Our David...

Forty Five years ago this Saturday, a Special baby boy was born to a young Wife and Mother of 17 years old. When he was born the young doctor with tears in his eyes told this Mother "Your baby is Mongoloid". This Mother not knowing what that meant said... he will grow out of it wont he?. The Doctor said no and he will probably not live to be three years old.


Well...little did that young Doctor know, God had a special plan for this little "Mongoloid". My Brother David, as most of you know, has Downs Syndrome and he is nonverbal.

From as early as I can remember, My Brother David has only blessed and showed love to everyone he came in contact with.
He has taught us so many things...Patience, Compassion, Kindness, and just appreciating the simply things in life! I could not imagine my life with out him being in it.

Im so Thankful God chose Us to be his Family. Years ago, a person my Mom once knew asked her about her children... In the conversation she asked my Mom if she still had David... My Mom replied... yes and I still have Charles, Twyla and Roy. You cant truly appreciate this unless you have a "special child" of your own. My Mom never looked at David as if he were a burden, he was her child. Although in his younger years he kept her on her toes and he Still does :) she would not trade him for a so called "normal" child for All the money in the world.

Saturday is Davids Birthday...Yes an angel was born on Halloween :) We Are having a Fall festival at our church and Im bringing a cake with 45 candles on it! :) If You'd like to wish him a Happy Birthday You're welcome to come and be Blessed....Thank You for taking the time to read this...Have a Blessed Day!
